Clotti Privacy Policy
Effective from 18 October 2026
Clotti is an app for organising your wardrobe: clothes, outfits and reminders. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. It works on Android phones and tablets and on iPhone and iPad; where it says "phone", the same applies to a tablet or an iPad.
1. Data controller
- Controller: Silvia Lorenzo Barcenilla (Spain)
- Contact: info.lobaapps@gmail.com
2. Summary
- Clotti has no servers of its own: everything you save stays on your phone.
- The controller does not collect, see or receive your items, your photos or your outfits.
- The only thing it can receive is technical error reports, and only if you agree (section 8).
- The automatic features (recognising the type of item and its colour, removing the background) run on your phone: your photos are not sent anywhere (section 6).
- There are no ads, no analytics, no profiling and no sale of data.
- Sync is optional and uses your own Google Drive.
- The full version is bought through Google Play or the App Store: the controller does not see or receive your payment details (section 10).
3. Data that stays on your phone
Everything you create in Clotti is stored only in the app's private storage on your device:
- items and their details (name, category, colour, brand, price, notes…);
- photos of items and outfits;
- outfits, the wear calendar, reminders and notifications;
- the monthly and yearly recaps (kept as they were when each month or year closed);
- your settings and preferences.
The controller has no access to any of it.
4. Sync with Google Drive (optional)
Sync is part of the full version (section 10). If you turn it on in Settings, Clotti keeps a copy of your wardrobes in your Google Drive account, to share it with your other phones.
- Permission requested: only one, access to the app's private folder in your Drive ("see, create and delete its own configuration data"). Clotti cannot see your Drive files, your name, your profile picture or any other data in your account.
- Your email address: Clotti learns the address of the account you connect with and keeps it only on your phone, to show you which account is connected and to notice if you switch accounts. It is not sent to anyone.
- Where the copy lives: on Google's servers, inside your account. It does not pass through any server of the controller. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy.
- How to turn it off: Settings → Sync → Disconnect. The app withdraws its permission. You can also withdraw it at any time from your Google Account (Security → Connections to third-party apps).
- How to delete the copy: Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps → Clotti → "Delete hidden app data".
Clotti's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: the data is used only to provide the sync you turn on, is not transferred to third parties, is not used for advertising, and is not read by any person.
5. Adding items from the web
Clotti includes a browser to look for items in shops and save their photos.
- The pages you visit (Google, shops) receive the same information they would from any browser — your IP address, for example — and may use their own cookies. Their own privacy policies apply.
- Clotti only stores on your phone the photos and item details you choose, and the address of the last page visited, to return to it next time.
- Those pages' cookies stay on your phone and are removed when you uninstall the app.
6. Automatic features on your photos
Clotti does not use cloud artificial intelligence. What it does with your photos runs on your own phone, and photos are not sent anywhere:
- Type of item: when you add an item, Clotti suggests its category with an open image recognition model (Marqo-FashionSigLIP) that comes built into the app. Nothing extra is downloaded and no service is contacted.
- Colour: it is worked out directly from the photo's pixels, on your phone.
- Removing the background on Android: Clotti uses ML Kit, a Google tool that also runs on your phone. Google Play services downloads the required component the first time, and ML Kit may send Google technical usage and performance data (not your photos), as Google explains in its ML Kit terms.
- Removing the background on iPhone and iPad: Clotti uses Vision, the image recognition tool Apple builds into iOS. It runs on your device and does not send your photos to Apple.
7. Device permissions
- Camera and gallery: only when you choose to take or pick a photo. Clotti receives only the photos you select.
- Saving to Photos (iPhone and iPad): if, when sharing the image of an item or an outfit, you choose "Save Image", iOS asks for permission to add it to your photo library. That permission only allows adding images: it does not let Clotti see your photos.
- Notifications: for the alerts you choose (reminders, scheduled outfits, "did you wear this outfit?" and the monthly and yearly recaps). They are scheduled on your phone and stay active if you restart it; no notifications are sent from the internet.
- Internet: for the built-in browser and, if you turn them on, for sync and error reports.
Clotti does not access your location, your contacts or your microphone.
8. Error reports (optional)
The first time you open Clotti it asks whether you want to send error reports. If you say no, nothing is sent. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Help → "Send error reports".
If you agree, when the app fails a technical report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service:
- What it contains: the type of error and the place in the code where it happened, the Clotti version, your phone model and its Android or iOS version, technical details of the moment of the failure (free memory and storage, screen orientation), the date and a random identifier of the installation.
- What it does not contain: your items, your photos, your outfits, your calendar, your Google account or the pages you visit. Before sending each report, Clotti removes from the error message any file paths, web addresses and texts that could be yours.
- What it is used for: only to find and fix the app's faults.
- Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by turning the switch off. Turning it off deletes the reports waiting to be sent.
- Exception: if Clotti cannot open your wardrobe at startup, it shows a "Send report" button. That report is only sent if you tap it.
9. Sharing and copies
- Sharing or exporting an item, an outfit or a wardrobe creates a file that you decide whom to send to, and how. Exporting and importing
.clottifiles is part of the full version (section 10); sharing an image is not. - Switching Android phones: if you use Android's transfer when setting up a new phone, your Clotti data may be copied directly to it. Clotti does not use Android's cloud backup.
- iCloud backups (iPhone and iPad): if iCloud Backup is on, iOS includes Clotti's data in it, as it does for any app. The same happens when you move your data to a new iPhone or iPad. Apple keeps that backup in your iCloud account, under its privacy policy, and the controller has no access to it. You can leave Clotti out in Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups.
- Google Play and Apple may collect crash diagnostics depending on your device settings (on iOS, the "Share with App Developers" option), and show them to the controller in aggregated, anonymous form.
10. Full version (one-time purchase)
Clotti is free up to 100 items and 30 outfits. The full version is a single payment, with no subscription, that removes that limit and adds sync, .clotti files and the monthly and yearly recaps.
- Who charges: the store you buy from: Google Play on Android, or Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPad. The purchase, the charge, taxes and refunds are handled by that store under its own terms and privacy policy (Google's or Apple's). The controller does not see or receive your card or account details.
- What Clotti knows: only whether your store account has the purchase or not. It asks the store and remembers the answer on your device; it is not sent anywhere else.
- Other devices: the purchase belongs to your Google Play account or your Apple Account, so it works on any device of the same system where you use that account. A purchase made on Google Play does not work on iPhone or iPad, and one made on the App Store does not work on Android.
- Refunds: they are requested from the store you bought from (for Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com). If the purchase is refunded, Clotti goes back to the free version: nothing you have is deleted, but you will not be able to add items or outfits over the limit, or to sync, import, export or open the recaps.
11. Who your data is shared with
Your items, photos and outfits, with nobody: the controller does not hold them, so they are not sold, transferred or disclosed to third parties.
Error reports, if you turn them on, are processed by Google (Firebase Crashlytics) as a data processor, on the controller's behalf and only for that purpose. Google may process them in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information in Firebase's privacy terms.
12. Retention and deletion
- The data on your phone is kept for as long as you want. You can delete items, outfits or wardrobes inside the app; uninstalling it removes everything.
- The Google Drive copy is kept until you delete it (section 4).
- Error reports are kept for 90 days and then deleted.
13. Your rights
Data protection law (the GDPR and Spain's LOPDGDD) gives you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability.
Your items, photos and outfits are only on your phone and, if you use them, in your Google Drive or your iCloud backup, so you can exercise them directly: view, change, export or delete them from the app itself. For error reports, or for any question, write to info.lobaapps@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
14. Age
Anyone can use Clotti; there is no age limit. Error reports are off until someone agrees to them: if you are under 14, your mother, father or guardian must decide. Sync is optional and needs a Google account, which has its own age requirements.
15. Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, this policy will be updated and the new date shown at the top.
